Music meets history in Contemporary Musical Styles

Trace the history of music from the blues of the 1930’s to contemporary pop.

In Contemporary Musical Styles, you’ll analyze your favorite songs, listen to concerts and study the influence of technology on music. This course gives the historical and cultural context of popular lyrics and styles through an examination of prominent musicians and an exploration of various genres.
