University Admissions Representatives Meet More than 600 Students at Foothill’s Transfer Day

More than 600 Foothill students attended the college’s University Transfer Fair last month to discuss transfer options with visiting admissions representatives from 9 UC campuses, 7 CSU campuses, 26 private universities and 19 out-of-state colleges. Foothill hosts the annual event to showcase the variety of choices available to students as they prepare to make transfer decisions.

Organized by the Foothill College Transfer Center, the popular annual event gives Foothill students the unique opportunity to meet one to one with admissions officers, and get answers to questions about requirements, scholarships and more. A variety of free admissions workshops were also presented at the information fair to further help Foothill students learn about potential university-transfer destinations.

“Our annual Transfer Day event is open to all students, and we’re delighted that so many attended the event. Students who had the best Transfer Day experience did more than stop by an information table,” says Foothill Transfer Center Coordinator Karen Oeh. “They researched potential transfer schools, and came prepared with thoughtful questions about academic majors, admissions and degree requirements, campus life, housing and financial aid.”

Based on their feedback, Foothill students were extremely interested in discussing transfer options with representatives from the UC and CSU campuses, especially UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UCLA.

The date for the 2016 University Transfer Day Fair will be announced later this spring. However, Foothill hosts drop-in and by-appointment consultations with visiting university admissions representatives throughout the year. Review the calendar of upcoming college/university visits.

On-Campus Transfer Center

Foothill’s Transfer Center assists students with selecting a major and preparing to transfer to a college or university, as well as filling out college applications, writing admission essays and completing transfer admission guarantees (TAGs).

Visit the center to review college catalogs and brochures; learn about general education, major and transfer requirements; obtain application forms, review scholarships and special services offered at CSUs, UCs and private institutions; and evaluate career and technical program information.

Learn how you can start your degree at Foothill then transfer to the college or university of your choice by attending free transfer-related workshops or visiting the Transfer Center in Room 8329.
