Family Engagement Institute makes a difference

The Family Engagement Institute (FEI) was founded in 2010 with the goal of giving parents and caregivers the access, tools, and voice to support their children’s education, while simultaneously supporting their own educational growth and development. That same year FEI began its partnership with Foothill College, whose leaders embraced FEI’s Multi-Generational – Pathways to College For Two Generations model.

Giving Tuesday raises more than $25,000

On Tuesday, December 1, 2015 the Foothill-De Ana Foundation participated in its first “Giving Tuesday,” a global day dedicated to giving back. Organizations in more than 70 countries participated in 2015 and raised $116.7 million.

STEM Summer Camps provide hands-on approach to learning

In many high schools, a class in science or engineering starts with reading from the textbook and finishes with a lab exercise from the textbook. But at the Foothill College STEM Summer Camps, students build robotic hands, investigate crime scenes, and fly remote-control hovercrafts, all in the name of education.
