Umoja Learning Community offers a more personal and meaningful education

An innovative instructional opportunity for all students, Umoja groups English, communication, and psychology courses in a three-quarter program. Students are admitted to the program each fall, and progress through the academic year as a learning community cohort.

Each day, people trained in emergency medical practices save lives. While we rely on doctors and nurses who work in emergency rooms to fix our wounds, when an accident occurs or a loved one suddenly experiences an undefined physical ailment, it's the EMRs, EMTs and paramedics of our community who see us first. They assess needs while calming fears and/or keeping us alive before transporting us to an emergency room for more advanced care.

The sun is setting on your opportunity to study astronomy with Andrew Fraknoi, Foothill’s award-winning astronomy instructor. The founder of the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series, Fraknoi has announced that he will retire at the conclusion of Spring Quarter 2017, which means you have just three quarters–Fall 2016, Winter 2017 and Spring 2017–to take one or several of Fraknoi’s good-humored introductory astronomy classes.
